Use this board to discuss the movements for bilateral lower body strength. Feel free to post a question or comment for an AOC staff member, coach, or fellow certification student to respond to.

    Hey Matt,

I’m curious as to why you included the lunge, bulgarian split squat, and split squat in the bilateral movements.  While they might have two feet on the ground, ideally you are working one leg more than the other.  To me that should shift them into more of a unilateral category.

I’m also curious as to you statement that the front squat is more hip dominant and the back squat is more knee dominant.  Are you referring to the mobility demands or the muscles recruitment?

This is more of a personal opinion but what was referred to as a “Stiff-Legged Deadlift” in the video has been called a “Romanian Deadlift” in my experiences.

Thanks for putting together this course, I hope other strength coaches take advantage of it!

    Hi Matt,

Awesome Course and I’m only 52% complete. Looking to purchase equipment for the team and wondering what size of foam roller i should get 18″ or 24″ we will be using in the gym and with limited storage area and getting about 4 pieces.
